UTICA, N.Y. – Residents in the upper-level floors of the Olbiston apartments in Utica are being relocated within the complex.
State Supreme Court has ruled that the owner of the Genesee Street building is responsible for relocating the tenants of the fourth and fifth floors to lower-level apartments.
The owner is responsible for all costs associated with the move.
A total of 13 apartments are impacted.
The city of Utica took the owner of Olbiston to court over a leaking roof and the damage it caused to the upper floors.
The mayor says the city is satisfied with the ruling, but not happy with the situation.
