SANDY CREEK, N.Y. – A tractor-trailer carrying more than 7,000 gallons of milk rolled over on an exit ramp off I-81 on Sunday.
State police say the truck driver, Seth T. Eaton, 38, was getting off Exit 37 and had to swerve to miss a car parked on the shoulder of the ramp. Eaton lost control of the tractor-trailer and hit a signpost before overturning.
Eaton was sent to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse to be treated for injuries that were not considered life threatening.
The exit ramp was closed for several hours while crews cleared the spilled milk from the highway.
