ILION – The Ilion Days Doo Dah Parade kicks off at 6:30 p.m. Friday, and the Ilion Police Department is making sure the public is aware of traffic delays and road closures.
The parade route begins at the intersection of Otsego Street (State Route 51) and Frederick Street, then travels north on Otsego Street until reaching the intersection of Otsego Street and West Street. The parade will then turn left onto West Street and head north, until reaching the intersection of West Street and West Main Street.

The parade will then turn right onto West Main Street and travel northeast, until reaching West Clark Street. The parade will then continue eastbound on West Clark Street until the intersection of Clark Street and Central Avenue, then it will proceed east on East Clark Street until it reaches the end of the parade route at the intersection of East Clark Street and Catherine Street.
Police say drivers traveling through the village of Ilion between 6-8:30 p.m. should anticipate heavy vehicular and pedestrian traffic within the downtown areas. Drivers should also expect traffic delays and road closures between those hours.
Detour signs will be in place on State Route 51 prior to the parade, and they will be taken down after the parade is over.
The theme of this year's parade is "Ilion Through the Years."
Following the parade, there will be music at 7:30 p.m. by DJ Timeless Tunes at David Whalen Community Park, followed by fireworks in the park at 9:45 p.m.
