TRENTON – A Trenton man is facing a felony charge for allegedly possessing child porn, according to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office’s Chief Deputy Michael Purdy, director of the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center.
John Angwin Jr., 28, is charged with one count of felony possession of a sexual performance of a child.
Purdy says the Child Advocacy Center conducted an investigation into a complaint that was submitted through the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, and a search warrant was obtained.
On Wednesday morning, investigators searched a residence on Whittaker Road in the town of Trenson, and Angwin, who lives at that address, was arrested.
Angwin is currently being held at the Oneida County Jail pending arraignment.
Purdy says the investigation will be turned over to the Oneida County District Attorney’s Office for further review and possible further charges.
