ROME, N.Y. (UPDATED) -- A woman was hospitalized following a two-car crash on Route 233 in Rome Thursday afternoon.
According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, 36-year-old Kimberly Bryant, of Rome, was rear-ended while trying to turn onto Evans Road.
Maciol says Bryant was stopped in her Subaru waiting to turn when 30-year-old Peter Lopez, of Clinton, driving a Chevy Silverado, hit the Subaru from behind, pushing it into the oncoming lane of traffic.
Bryant was sent to St. Elizabeth’s to be evaluated for neck and head pain.
Lopez received citations for following too closely and operating at unreasonable speeds.
