Town of Webb Police were dispatched to a snowmobile accident on Fourth Lake just south of Eagle Bay Saturday afternoon.
Police say upon arrival they found a large debris field on the lake where two snowmobiles collided at high speed and two people sustained serious injuries.
According to police, Brian R. Corey, 49, of Poughkeepsie was traveling east on Fourth Lake when he realized the group he was riding with turned back. Corey took a hard-left U-turn and drove directly into the path of Ann Moeller, 55, from Amherst. The snowmobiles collided and were destroyed.
Corey was transported by ambulance to St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center with a fractured leg, arm, and internal injuries.
Moeller was also transported to St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center with a head injury, a broken leg, and internal injuries.
The rescue of the two individuals was conducted by Eagle Bay Fire and Rescue and Inlet Ambulance. Assisting the scene were Inlet Fire Department, Big Moose Ambulance, Old Forge Ambulance ALS, Inlet Police Department, State Police, and Morins Towing Service of Thendara.
