UTICA, N.Y. – Utica Police Department is investigating two separate incidents where shots were fired in Utica on Monday.
Officers were called to the intersection of Steuben and Square streets just before 3 p.m., and confirmed there was evidence of shots fired at the scene.
Witnesses say someone in a dark-colored vehicle passed through the intersection and shot at another passing vehicle.
Police say no injuries were reported.
Another incident happened later in the day around 8:45 p.m. on Tilden Avenue. Police say several shots were fired in backyards between the 500 block of Tilden Avenue and the 500 block of Niagara Street.
After an investigation, police say the rear of a residence was hit several times before three black men were seen running from the area. The men allegedly got in a silver vehicle and fled the scene.
Police did not receive reports of any injuries.
