UTICA- Utica Police are investigating two separate shooting incidents that happened on Friday night.
Police say they were notified of the first incident at about 7:45 p.m. when a man walked into St. Elizabeth Medical Center with a gunshot wound to his lower leg. Reports say he was walking on City Street near Capital Ave when he was shot. Police say he was able to call for a ride to the hospital. Injuries are not serious.
The second incident happened when another man walked into St. Luke's at about 10:45 p.m. According to reports, the man was walking on Sunset Ave near Waverly Place when he said he noticed a dark colored vehicle approach him and someone firing shots from it. The man told police he was shot in the thigh. He also was able to get transportation to the hospital. His injuries are not considered life threatening.
No calls were received by either the 911 center or the Utica Police Department regarding shots fired in the vicinity of either incident.
