MOHAWK - The executive director of Mohawk Valley Ambulance Corps. in Mohawk has officially been let go.
In a Facebook post, the former head of MOVAC, Brad Vrooman, said he received notice from the board of directors president on Thursday that he has been terminated.
"I would like to publicly state to all the employees that I fought for you every day, and attempted every day of my life to improve wages, working conditions, and benefits," Vrooman said.
Initially, Vrooman was suspended for five days after getting into a heated argument with the board of directors at MOVAC over several personnel and operation issues.
On Friday morning, MOVAC sent out a notice announcing Vrooman’s termination.
“MOVAC will continue to provide professional EMS services to the communities it serves,” a portion of the notice read. “MOVAC is in the strongest position financially is has been in for a number of years and looks forward to the future. The Board of Directors is proud of the men and women who comprise its workforce and is grateful for their dedication and commitment to the people and community we serve.”
MOVAC also stated that because it’s a personnel matter, they are unable to comment further.
