One shot near the corner of Kossuth Avenue and South Street

A 38-year-old man is in critical condition after a shooting on Friday night.

UPDATE- A 38-year-old man is in critical condition after a shooting on Friday night.

According to Utica Police, Jonathan Hines from Utica had been struck multiple times at the intersection of Kossuth Ave. and South Street near the IBB Mini Market.

The Utica Fire Department transported Hines to the hospital where he underwent emergency surgery.

The police department is asking anyone with any information about the incident to contact Major Crimes at (315) 269-7440, or the Criminal Investigations Division at (315) 223-3510. All calls will remain confidential.

UTICA, N.Y. -- Just after 10 p.m. on Friday night, crews were called to South Street for reports of shots fired near the corner of Kossuth and South Street near the IBB Mini Market.

According to Utica police, the victim was taken to St. Elizabeth's for treatment. No word on extent of injuries or if there's anyone in custody.
