Boil water advisory lifted for New Hartford and Utica.

UPDATE- The Mohawk Valley Water Authority has confirmed the boil water advisory for Utica and New Hartford has been lifted.

Crews fixed the break on Saturday afternoon.

UTICA – Some residents in the city of Utica and the town of New Hartford are without water due to a water main break, according to the Mohawk Valley Water Authority.

The water main break is near the intersection of Pleasant Street and Tilden Avenue in Utica.

When water service is restored, residents on the following streets will be under a boil water advisory:

- Albany St/Rd – South Park Dr to Brockway Rd
- Beckwith Cir
- Bedford Ln
- Birchwood Ln
- Buckley Rd
- Candlewood La
- Carmen Ln
- Christensen Rd
- East Park Ct
- East Park Rd

The boil water advisory will be in effect for approximately 48 hours, until laboratory testing confirms the advisory can be lifted. Customers are advised to boil their water for at least two minutes before using it for drinking or cooking.

Customers are also advised against using cloudy or discolored water – especially hot water – because it may require you to flush your hot water tank once clear water becomes available. Customers should also avoid washing clothes in discolored water, because it could permanently stain your laundry.
