CANASTOTA, N.Y. (UPDATED) -- Madison County Sheriff Todd Hood tells NEWSChannel 2 they found a body Sunday morning, but cannot confirm it's Elizabeth Garrow-McDonald. They are waiting on autopsy results.
Sheriff Hood told NEWSChannel 2, based off tattoos, they're confident it's Garrow's body.

Hood said the female body was found a half a mile away from the Dunkin Donuts on Peterboro Street in Canastota, where she was last seen. Deputies recovered the body next to a bridge on Main Street in Canastota. They say it's a female in her 20's.
Sheriff Hood said the circumstances are tragic, but is glad their family finally has closure.
"I have kids we all have family members. You could just put yourself in their shoes as far as dealing with this. The uncertainty of going for four days not knowing and hoping and then to have this happen. And I'll say it again our deepest sympathies go out from law enforcement to this family. It's a tragedy," said Sheriff Hood.
This incident is under investigation.

Canastota, N.Y. - According to the Facebook page of Emily Lloyd, the sister of 19-year-old Elizabeth Garrow McDonald, the family has been notified by authorities that her body has been found.
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office has been searching for Garrow McDonald since Wednesday.
According to the sheriff’s office, 19-year-old Elizabeth Garrow was last seen at the Dunkin’ at 369 N. Peterboro St. in Canastota, around 11:45 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 23.
Today, there is an active crime scene not far from that Dunkin' location.
We are working on getting more information from the Madison County Sheriff's Office, as soon as it becomes available, we will pass it along.
On Saturday, crews continued their search for 19-year-old Elizabeth Garrow McDonald.
Madison County Sheriff Todd Hood, said crews searched hundreds of square miles in Madison County. He said they found evidence on Friday, but would not say what was found.
The Sheriff's Office released a mugshot of Garrow's husband, 24-year- old George McDonald Jr. who was arrested for a parole violation over a previous domestic issue related to his wife, Elizabeth.
The Sheriff's Office confirmed the arrest is not related to the disappearance of his wife.
Jail records show McDonald was booked at the Madison County Jail at 1:27 a.m. on Friday.
Crews are continuing their search for Elizabeth.

CANASTOTA, N.Y. – The Madison County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a young woman who was reported missing in Canastota, and are asking the public to contact them with any information about her disappearance.
According to the sheriff’s office, 19-year-old Elizabeth Garrow was last seen at the Dunkin’ at 369 N. Peterboro St. in Canastota, around 11:45 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 23.
Garrow is described as a Black woman, approximately 5-feet, 10-inches tall, with brown eyes and brown hair. She was last seen wearing jeans with holes and a pair of flip-flops.
Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 315-366-2311.
