UPDATE: One person, dog found dead in Dewitt Street fire

One person and a dog were found dead in the Dewitt Street fire. Firefighters arrived to find one person and a dog both dead on the first floor.

UTICA, N.Y. -- Utica Fire Chief confirms with NEWSChannel 2 that one person and a dog were found dead in the Dewitt Street fire. At least 3 adults have been displaced. 

Firefighters arrived to find one person and a dog both dead on the first floor. 

The fire happened just before 9 p.m. Sunday night. 

The Utica Police Crime Scene Unit, state fire investigators, and Utica fire crews were all on-scene of a fire on Dewitt Street.  NEWSChannel 2 has reached to police and fire officials to find out what exactly happened. 

At one point, Utica Police had a portion of that street blocked off. 

No names of those involved is not being released. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
