UPDATE: Red Cross helping 2 people after Richfield Springs fire

The Richfield Springs Fire Chief says a home is a total loss after a fire on Friday night.

UPDATE- The Red Cross is providing help to two people after a fire on McKoons Road on Friday night.

They're providing financial assistance for necessities such as shelter, food and clothing.

RICHFIELD SPRINGS-The Richfield Springs Fire Chief says a home is a total loss after a fire on Friday night.

Several crews were called to a home on Mckoons Road around 6 p.m. There was heavy smoke as crews arrived.

The Richfield Springs Fire Chief tells NEWSChannel 2 the home was being rented at the time, but no one was there.

The Chief also said he believes the fire started in the heating system.

No Injuries were reported.
