ALBANY, N.Y. – There may be a one-day delay in unemployment payments this week due to the Christopher Columbus holiday.
The New York State Department of Labor says this payment processing delay affects people who typically certify on Sunday or Monday.
People are advised to avoid calling the DOL if their payment is late, but check online in one or two business days to confirm the payment was released.
Due to holiday bank closures on Monday (10/12), there will be a one-day delay in benefit payment processing if you typically certify on Sunday or Monday.
