UTICA - It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and Union Station embraced that with its 33rd annual Christmas on Main Street.
Thousands of people went down to Union Station to get into the holiday spirit a little early.
Nicole Sykes and her family have already started decorating. “I think it’s great I love Christmas, we love decorating early, we already have our decorations up. It makes people happy when they decorate early.”
Normally filled with train passengers, Union Station was filled with vendors selling a selection of different items - some making some great Christmas gifts.
Melissa Connolly trying to use today to check some items off of her Christmas list. “Still shopping, got some ideas but there’s some great things you can buy here for Christmas.”
There was also no shortage of free activities to take part in. Kids got to take pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus. There was also a singing group and a dancing group that entertained the crowd. Families could also take holiday tractor rides as well.
Denise Toner tells us that Christmas on Main St. is perfect for the family.
“Who could be happier when the spirit of Christmas is in the air. So, the parents bring their kids out they have a lot of fun. Lot of activities, coloring activities all kinds of stuff for everybody to do.”
Saturday’s Christmas on Main St. is just a friendly reminder that Santa and his reindeer will be coming sooner than you think.
