UTICA, NY - On Sunday, the United Way continued their mission to feed those in need of a little help at meal time.
They were supposed to give away 1,600 meal boxes at MVCC in Utica, but had to move the distribution to Utica's Parkway Center, because police were investigating a report of damage to a cell tower at MVCC.
But the last-minute move didn't affect the distribution.
"Within the hour we were able to communicate with the city of Utica, the mayor was great in helping us figure out an alternative plan so that we can continue to get boxes into the family's homes," said Kristyn Bucciero Beckwith, the United Way's Communication Director.
The meal boxes included at least five meals for a family of five. Sunday's theme: Mediterranean.
