UTICA, N.Y. – The Utica Children’s Museum has come up with an innovative fundraiser, working around the pandemic restrictions that have hindered public events organizations typically hold to raise money.
The museum is offering a New Year’s Eve Memory Maker Box, full of items and activities that will allow kids to safely celebrate the New Year at home.
“So everything at the museum is about making memories and creating those unique experiences for children, so, we took that in mind when we were trying to think of something that we could do as a fundraising effort, said Donna Migliaccio ,director of the museum. “And again, with COVID, people are staying home so what can we do to make things easier for them and celebrate at home and still make those memories with their family."
The box contains grape juice, kid-friendly stemware, hats, noisemakers, treats and games.
Kids can then fill the box with memories, making it a time capsule for 2020.
Boxes are on sale for $100, and can be purchased at uticacm.org.
Curbside pickup will be available at the museum, 106 Memorial Parkway in Utica.
