UTICA, N.Y. - After what will be 637 days away, Utica City FC is finally coming home.
The team announced that Sunday, Dec. 5 will be the date for it's 2021-22 home opener at the Adirondack Bank Center.
The game will begin at 2 p.m., with the opponent yet to be announced.
This will be the first home game for the club since March 8, 2020, when they hosted the Kansas City Comets, shortly before the 2019-20 season was suspended and eventually canceled.
Their final game before the cancellation was on March 11, on the road, against the Harrisburg Heat.
Utica City FC opted out of the abbreviated 2021 season amid concerns over the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, but has committed to return to play for the upcoming season.
The full 2021-2022 regular season schedule will be released at a later date.
