WKTV - As the Major Arena Soccer League began to announce its 2019-20 season awards, Wednesday, Utica City FC midfielder Moises Gonzalez was named as an All-MASL honorable mention.
It's his second straight year receiving an honorable mention from the league, and he is one of 15 players league-wide to be named to that list.
In his first year with Utica, Gonzalez was tied for second on the team with 36 points and alone in second with 23 goals.
The 28-year-old was in his fourth season in the MASL, spending his rookie season with the then-Syracuse Silver Knights before playing the last two with the Rio Grande Valley Barracudas.
Known for his knack of scoring, Gonzalez has appeared in 83 regular season games in the MASL where he has 86 career goals. He also has 51 assists for 137 career points.
He is a native of Brownsville, Texas.
The rest of the season awards will be announced over the course of the next week, according to the league.
The 2019-20 regular season was canceled on March 12 due to the coronavirus pandemic. There have been no announcements regarding the potential for a playoffs scenario at this time.
Utica City FC was 14-6 overall at the time of the suspension, third place in the Eastern Conference.
They had four regular season games remaining.
