WKTV - The season awards streak continued for Utica City FC as defenders Jake Schindler and Onua Obasi were named to the All-MASL Second Team, Friday.
They made up the defensive pair for the six-man second team.
Schindler had a career year in his second for UCFC, leading all defenders on the team with 19 points. He was third on the team with 11 blocked shots.
He was an All-MASL Honorable Mention in 2018-19.
Obasi was in his first year with Utica, after signing a deal shortly after the season began in November. He quickly became on of the squad's premier defenders, second only to Schindler on the back line with 10 points (tied with Ben Ramin).
He finished second on the team overall with 17 blocked shots, only Darren Toby (20) had more.
This is Obasi's third league honor; he was named to the MASL All-Rookie team in the 2014-15 season, and was an All-MASL Honorable Mention in 2015-16.
With this defensive pair receiving recognition, Utica City FC has remained represented at every level of league honors so far.
