UPDATE: Utica police have identified the man who was killed in a shooting on Bleecker Street Thursday night.
Police say 25-year-old Deon Williams of Utica was the victim in the shooting, which occurred near 1019 Bleecker Street around 8:30 p.m. When police arrived on scene, they found Williams with several gunshot wounds, and he later died of his injuries at St. Elizabeth Medical Center.

The homicide investigation is ongoing, and police are asking anyone with information to call 315-223-3510.
UTICA – One man has died from injuries sustained by numerous gunshot wounds on Thursday night.
Around 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Utica police responded to 1019 Bleecker Street near Jefferson Avenue. Police say they found a man near the back of the complex with several gunshot wounds.
The Utica Fire Department quickly treated the man and then rushed him to St. Elizabeth Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.
Police were on the scene well into the night, and were even busy breaking up fights around the neighborhood. It is unknown whether or not they are related to the shooting. The street was blocked off while police investiaged and secured the scene.
Police say the identity of the victim will not be released until his family is notified.
