UTICA, NY – Semi-pro indoor lacrosse is coming to Utica.
The Utica Yeti Lacrosse Club announced Wednesday they have partnered with the Adirondack Bank Center to be the home arena for their first season in the Interstate Box Lacrosse Association.
The Yeti announced three regular season home games this summer: June 6 vs. the Salt City (Syracuse) Eels, June 13 vs. the Saugerties Night Pandas, and July 10 vs. the Albany Hyenas.
The IBLA started in 2017 and organizes seventeen regional indoor lacrosse leagues around the country. Utica will play in the Empire North region along with Albany, Saugerties, and Salt City.
The 17 regional champions will advance to compete in a national championship tournament.
The league is partnered with the National Lacrosse League (NLL), a professional box lacrosse league with teams across the United States and Canada. Players in the IBLA will have the chance to get scouted and signed to NLL teams.
Tickets can be purchased at empirestatetix.com. The team says fans will need to provide proof of either a COVID-19 vaccination or negative test to attend home games.
