UTICA, N.Y. – The Utica Zoo held its second Noon Year’s Eve celebration on Tuesday for children and parents to celebrate the New Year a little early.
The event was held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., giving families an opportunity to meet the animals, make rafts and participate in other activities. There was also a sparkling juice toast and a ball drop at noon.

“Lots of growth we're expecting to bring some new animals, some new exhibits. and just a lot of upper momentum – 2019 was one of our best years in our entire 106-year period,” said Simon.
The zoo will reopen for regular hours on Jan. 1.
