UTICA, N.Y. – On Monday, the St. Louis Gonzaga Church in Utica did its best to clean a statue that was defaced with hateful graffiti over the weekend.
Utica police are still searching for the person responsible for spray-painting a red swastika on a statue of Jesus.
Utica Police Department released the following statement on Sunday:
"An investigation has immediately begun. The Utica Police Department and the City Administration take acts of hate against any religious or community group seriously and these acts will not be tolerated in our community."
