NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. – A Utica man is charged with burglary after allegedly breaking into a room at the New Hartford Hotel, and stealing someone’s property.
Joseph Lumbrazo, 20, is charged with second-degree burglary and second-degree criminal trespassing.
Police say Lumbrazo went into a hotel room when the occupant wasn’t there, and took some property. Then, Lumbrazo allegedly came back again when the occupant had returned to the room.
The incident was initially reported as an armed robbery, but police say no weapons were involved.
The New Hartford Hotel is located at the former Ramada Inn on New Hartford Street.
