A Utica man is facing a felony charge following a child abuse investigation.

A Utica man is facing a felony charge following a child abuse investigation, according to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office’s Chief Deputy Lisi, director of the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center.

On Tuesday, Dec. 5, 36-year-old Philip Kistner of Utica was arrested and charged with felony first-degree endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disabled person. According to Lisi, the arrest followed an investigation into alleged child abuse.

Kistner was arraigned in Utica City Court and sent to the Oneida County Jail on $2,500 bail.

Victim services were offered to the victim by the Child Advocacy Center.

Lisi says the case has been referred to the Oneida County District Attorney’s Office for further investigation, and additional charges may be filed.
