UTICA, N.Y. – A Utica man was arrested after allegedly locking a teen girl in a room and threatening to keep her there until she sent him sexually explicit photos.
David Searcy, 34, was arrested Monday and charged with second-degree unlawful imprisonment and endangering the welfare of a child.
The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Child Advocacy Center investigated the incident after a child abuse report was made in November.
Investigators say Searcy held the 14-year-old girl against her will, forcing her to take and send sexually explicit photos to gain her freedom from the locked room.
Searcy was arraigned in Utica City Court and released on his own recognizance.
An order of protection was requested on behalf of the victim.
