HERKIMER – A Utica man is facing charges after he was allegedly found to be selling untaxed cigarettes at his convenience store in Herkimer, according to New York State Police.
Ramadan Ali Fateh, 45, is charged with misdemeanor possession/transportation/sale of unstamped/untaxed cigarettes.

State police say that with the help of Herkimer police and the state Department of Taxation and Finance, they executed a search warrant at Friends Convenience Store, located at 152 North Main St. in the village of Herkimer. Police say they found and seized approximately $1,000 worth of untaxed/unstamped Native brand cigarettes.
Fateh was issued an appearance ticket for the Village of Herkimer Court on Sept. 25.
Police say the investigation is ongoing and more charges in Herkimer County are anticipated.
