SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- A man who admits to dealing heroin in and around Utica pleaded guilty to federal charges Friday.
Anulfo Fernandez, 42, of Utica, was charged with possessing and intending to distribute heroin in the Utica area in 2019. He admitted to selling more than a kilogram of heroin, which he stored and packaged in a vacant Utica apartment. Fernandez said he had 400 grams of heroin at the apartment in December of 2019 that he was planning to sell.
Fernandez faces five to 40 years in prison if convicted, and a fine of up to $5 million.
He is scheduled to be sentenced in March of 2022.
