UTICA, N.Y. – A Utica man is accused of following a woman into an elevator and pushing her against the wall while performing a lewd act in front of her.
Utica police say 35-year-old Antonio Pugh followed the woman while she was walking to her apartment on the 400 block of Bleecker Street around 1 p.m. He continued to follow her inside, and into the elevator.
That’s when Pugh allegedly assaulted the woman and started performing the lewd act, before grabbing her hand and placing it onto himself.
The woman told police when the doors opened, she was able to remove the suspect’s hand and leave the elevator. Pugh allegedly followed the woman to her apartment, and continued the lewd act outside her door after she went inside.
After UPD was notified of the incident, a photo of the suspect was circulated internally, and several officers helped identify him.
Police were able to find Pugh soon after and take him in for processing.
Pugh was charged with first-degree sexual abuse, third-degree burglary and public lewdness.
