Utica man arrested after fleeing police at traffic stop

Utica Police have man in custody after a traffic stop turned into a foot chase Wednesday afternoon.

UTICA, N.Y. - Utica Police have man in custody after a traffic stop turned into a foot chase Wednesday afternoon.

22-year-old Elijiah Reed of Utica was pulled over at approximately 4:25 P.M. on Wednesday.

According to police, as the car slowed down, Reed jumped out and took off on foot.

Police caught him and he admitted to a having a gun in the car.

Officers found a a loaded 9mm hand gun.

Reed is charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon and Criminal Possession of a Firearm.
