NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. - According to New Hartford Police, a woman was in the store and had a confrontation with a relative, Kareeh Freeman, 27 of Utica. During the confrontation it is alleged that Freeman punched and kicked the female causing her to fall to the ground. While on the ground Freeman smashed the victim’s cell phone so she could not call the Police for help.
Freeman was taken into custody at Union Station in the City of Utica with the assistance of the Utica Police Department. Freeman was charged with the following:
1 Count of Criminal Contempt in the 1st degree a class E- Felony
2 counts of Criminal Mischief in the 4th degree a class A- Misdemeanor
1 Count of Harassment 2nd a Violation
Freeman was arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Court and held on bail. He is set to appear in New Hartford Court at a later date.
