UTICA, N.Y. – A Utica man has been sentenced to 20 years in federal prison for sexually exploiting a child and distributing child pornography.
Aaron Bohannon, 53, admitted to recording his sexual abuse against a child victim from at least 2018 through June of 2019, and sending the explicit videos to others. He also distributed sexually explicit photos and videos of other minors.
Bohannaon will be required to register as a sex offender when he gets out of prison, and will be under supervised release for life.
The case was investigated by the New York State Police, the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, the Utica Police Department, and the Department of Homeland Security as part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative to protect children from online exploitation and abuse.
