UTICA, N.Y. – Residents at The Pines at Utica Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation held a walk Friday, to raise money for the Alzheimer’s research.
Since there are still restrictions on visitation, people with family members at the facility came by to visit after the walk through the windows, waving and holding signs.
"Actually, at the end of it, the residents over the course of the last few weeks have made mugs, they've done some art work, they’ve made some mugs to sell back to their families, and that money will be donated, so, it was a really good event today,” said Ross Kerska, an administrator at the nursing home.
The money raised from the event will go to the local chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.
