UTICA, N.Y. – Three teens are facing weapons charges after Utica police found two guns in a vehicle during a traffic stop on March 30.
The Gun Involved Violence Elimination (GIVE) unit stopped the vehicle on the 1200 block of Seymour Avenue around 9:45 p.m.
Officers interviewed the three people inside the vehicle, and found cause to do a search.
Two loaded handguns were found, one under the driver's seat and the other under the passenger seat.
Police arrested 19-year-old Quamire Palmer, 18-year-old Kaivon Hamell and a 16-year-old whose name will not be released.
All three were charged with criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a firearm.
Police say one of the weapons, a pink SKY 9mm, was stolen out of Georgia, so additional charges are likely.
