Utica police officers recognized for going beyond the call of duty

The Utica Police Department took the time to honor officers for their outstanding efforts to protect and serve the community.

UTICA, NY-- The Utica Police Department took the time to honor officers for their outstanding efforts to protect and serve the community.


The Utica Police Department held its 90th Annual Award ceremony at the Doubletree Hotel by Hilton, on Thursday.

Nearly 50 officers were recognized in several different categories, including honorable service and exceptional duty. There were also awards for supervisor of the year, lifesaving efforts, long-term service and the Thomas Lindsey Award.

Police Chief Mark Williams said the ceremony is a way support and thank the officers.
