LYONSDALE, N.Y. – A Utica teen drowned after falling into fast-moving waterfalls at Agers Falls on June 18 in Lewis County.
State police say 16-year-old Abraham Whay was walking across rocks near a concrete dam when he slipped and fell into the water.
Whay did not resurface immediately, but was later located and pronounced dead at the scene.
The Agers Falls recreation area on Lyonsdale Road is closed until further notice.
Police say the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
