UTICA, NY-- The Utica woman accused of stabbing her mother to death, in their Humphrey Gardens apartment last year, appeared in Oneida County Court on Wednesday.

Hills, who was argumentative and prior court proceedings, remained calm during her Huntley hearing. The 24-year-old is accused of stabbing her mother multiple times on Feb. 6, 2017.

Local attorney and public defender Cory Zennamo, waived the hearing because the defense is still waiting for a medical report to come back on an an examination of Hills.

The purpose of the hearing was to review how the police obtained statements from Hills. But because the hearing was waived, the defense did not challenge how those statements were obtained.

Hills is scheduled to appear back in court on May 7 for a status report.
