NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. – A Utica woman was arrested twice Tuesday for allegedly stealing merchandise from Macy’s two separate times that day, according to New Hartford police.
Stephany Liles, 28, was arrested and charged with felony criminal possession of stolen property after police say she ran out of the store around 2 p.m. carrying several items with security tags still attached.
Police say Liles fled in a blue sedan, and was later located by officers and taken to the police department to be processed. She was then released on an appearance ticket.
After she was released, police were again called to Macy’s around 5:15 p.m. when Liles was stopped in the store by loss prevention workers. She was arrested again and charged with petit larceny.
Liles was taken to the New Hartford Police Department where she was processed a second time and released on another appearance ticket.
She is due back in the Town of New Hartford Court later this month.
