MARSHALL, N.Y. – A Utica woman was allegedly intoxicated when she crashed her Jeep in the town of Marshall just after midnight Monday.
According to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, 25-year-old Serena Masner was driving east on California Road when she lost control of her Jeep, hit a guard rail and went airborne, before hitting a telephone pole and rolling over into a creek bed near an embankment.
Masner was injured in the crash and went to a nearby residence to find help, which is when authorities were called to the scene.
Masner was taken to St. Elizabeth Medical Center to be treated for minor injuries.
Deputies say Masner was allegedly under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. She has been charged with driving while intoxicated and received a traffic violation for leaving the lane of travel unsafely.
According to the sheriff’s office, the investigation is ongoing and more charges may be filed.
Masner will return to Town of Marshall Court at a later date.
