UTICA, N.Y. – A Utica woman has been charged with animal cruelty after the CNY SPCA removed several dogs, cats and rats from her home at 1434 Genesee St. on Tuesday.
Investigators from the SPCA say Carol C. Gravlin, 57, was harboring the animals in unhealthy and unsanitary conditions. She signed all of the animals over to the SPCA, where they will be placed up for adoption. Gravlin was also charged with second-degree criminal contempt.
This is not the first time Gravlin has had animals removed from her home. Seven cats and two dogs were seized from her apartment in August of 2018. She was charged with animal cruelty in that case as well.
