UTICA, N.Y. - Former Proctor High School basketball standout, Brianna Kiesel, has signed to continue her professional basketball career in Hungary for CMB Cargo Uni Gyor.
This will be her second stint with the team, which plays in the Hungarian A Division, the nation's highest league. She last suited up for the club in the 2016-17 season. It will also be her sixth professional basketball season overall.
The former Raiders star spent last season overseas in Poland, playing for Artego Bydgoszcz of the Basket Liga Kobiet, Poland's highest pro league.
During the 2019-20 season, the guard finished the year averaging 15 points, 5.8 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 1.9 steals per game. She shot 52.9% from the floor and 36.7% from three-point range.
Following a stellar high school career, in which the Utica native became Proctor's all-time leading scorer with 1,548 points, she spent her collegiate career playing at the NCAA Division I level for Pittsburgh.
She remains the Panthers' all-time leader in minutes played and is the only player in program history to register at least 1,500 points, 500 rebounds and 400 assists. She also lead the team in scoring and assists for all four seasons she played there.
Kiesel was drafted by the Tulsa Shock with the 13th overall pick in the 2015 WNBA Draft and spent three seasons in the league, playing 57 career games with the Shock, Dallas Wings and Atlanta Dream.
Kiesel and CMB Cargo Uni Gyor will begin its 2020-21 season in September.
