CORTLAND - A New York man is behind bars after being caught on camera crashing into a gas station pump this weekend.
According to the Cortland Police Department, the crash occurred at the Sunoco gas station on Port Watson Street in Cortland at about Noon Sunday.
Investigators said 23-year-old James Moore crashed his car into a gas pump and then ran away from the gas station.
The collision caused a fire, and fire crews responded to extinguish the flames, according to a report from CNYCentral.com.
Police said Moore claimed he fled the scene because his driver’s license was suspended.
CNYCentral.com reported that Moore was charged with leaving the scene of an accident, and aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle.
