SHERRILL, N.Y. - Fire fighters from at least three departments responded to a vacant house fire on Williams Street in Sherrill Wednesday evening.

Dramatic cellphone footage from viewer Matthew Warner showed the home filled with smoke and flames.

The fire broke out just before 10:00 p.m. Crews quickly closed off streets to traffic surrounding the home.

A police officer on the scene told WKTV that once fire officials managed to knock down the fire – they quickly searched the home for occupants. The officer said crews didn’t find anyone inside.

The home is likely a complete loss. The cause is under investigation.
