UTICA N.Y.- The night before Thanksgiving means the Bars and Restaurants are busting.
NewsChannel 2 went to Varick Street, and found many people coming into Utica from out of town to visit family, or to get away for the holiday.
When our camera crew stopped into Luna Mexican Restaurant, we found a visitor from California who came back to Utica to enjoy the Mexican food Luna has to offer.
"I actually love it. I've been here once and it really shocked me it matched the Mexican food in California and that's why I'm back here." said Song Kim.
And of course, the locals enjoyed their time out as well. Addison Gray of Marcy came to get a drink.
“It had like coconut rum, pineapple all sorts of good stuff in there. Anything to get the good vibe up.” said. Gray.
The Utica Police Department was on hand to monitor the bars on Varick Street, so people were reminded to drink responsibly, and drive sober.
