VERNON CENTER, N.Y. – The Vernon Center Fire Department has been collecting donations for the mother and two daughters displaced after their home exploded in Vernon Center.
The fire department recently set up the Alexis Peckham Benefit Fund to raise more money for the young girls, ages 2 and 5. Donations can be made at all branches of Community Bank.
The girls were released from the hospital on Wednesday after suffering burn injuries when their home exploded in the Quiet Valley Trailer Park on Dec. 1.
