VERNON, N.Y. – A Vernon man was arrested and charged after a domestic dispute turned physical on Sunday.
Oneida County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called to a home on Simmons Road in Vernon around 10:45 p.m., after 28-year-old Alex J. Schwasnick got into a fight with his 20-year-old girlfriend. Deputies say both of them suffered minor injuries.
Schwasnick was the “primary aggressor” in the incident, and was arrested at the scene, according to deputies. He was charged with criminal obstruction of breathing and second-degree harassment.
Deputies say Schwasnick was also found to have driven while under the influence of alcohol, and was charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated.
Schwasnick was remanded to the Oneida County jail for arraignment in CAP court.
