VERONA -- Verona Beach staff are not letting people swim in the water due to algae blooms.
People are allowed at the park, just not in the water. The beach has been closed since Monday.
Although people are still allowed at the park, there are signs posted throughout the beach area warning people not to swim.
According to the New York State Department of Health. People and animals should avoid the blooms because, the blue-green algae can cause health effects.
If you are looking for a beach to go to, Sylvan Beach which is near Verona Beach, is open as well as Green Lake, and Jamesville Beach.
