VERONA, N.Y. -- The Oneida County Sheriff's Office charged a Verona man with DWI following an alleged accident in Verona.
Around 6:42 p.m. Wednesday, Sheriff's Deputies were called to a reported motor vehicle accident, with physical injuries. The incident happened on Beacon Light Road, at the intersection of Stoney Brook Road in the Town of Verona.
Authorities say Jonathan Hudson, 26, of Verona, was driving on Beacon Light Road. He is accused of following another vehicle too closely. That vehicle was driven by Valerie Ritenour, 31, of Verona. Ritenour was trying to turn left onto Stoney Brook Road when Hudson rear-ended her vehicle.
Deputies report that Hudson was impaired by alcohol, according to the Oneida County Sheriff's Office. Hudson was arrested, issued traffic tickets for DWI and following too closely. He is expected to appear in the Town of Verona court at a later date.
Both Hudson and Ritenour were transported to area hospitals for minor injuries.
The Sheriff's Office was assisted on-scene by Verona Fire Department, Vineall Ambulance, Central Oneida County Ambulance, New York State Police, and Vernon Police Department.
